Für das Empfangsgebäude des Hauptbahnhof Kaiserslautern ist eine umfassende Modernisierung zur langfristigen Sicherung der Bausubstanz und Verbesserung der Nutzungsqualität vorgesehen. Aufgrund zahlreicher baulicher und technischer Mängel werden insbesondere Fassade, Tragkonstruktion, Dachflächen sowie Innenbereiche instandgesetzt und Feuchtigkeits- und Korrosionsschäden beseitigt. Darüber hinaus umfasst das Projekt die Modernisierung der technischen Gebäudeausrüstung, die energetische Optimierung des Gebäudes, die Erneuerung von Fenstern, Türen und Beleuchtung sowie Maßnahmen zur Verbesserung von Barrierefreiheit und Aufenthaltsqualität. Ergänzend werden Warte- und Mietflächen funktional und gestalterisch aufgewertet, um eine nachhaltige Nutzung und langfristige Vermietbarkeit sicherzustellen.
