Het voorwerp van de opdracht is de studie van de renovatie van 2 sites in het dorp Doel: het gemeentehuis en de pastorij. De pastorij bestaat uit 2 gebouwen nl. een woning en een wagenhuis. Beide sites dienen een nieuwe bestemming te krijgen volgens de projectdefinities in bijlage aan dit contract. De opdrachtnemer krijgt de meest uitgebreide opdracht waaronder ook o.m. de omgevingsaanlegwerken in het private deel rond de panden. Ook de opvolging van de uitvoering van de werken tot en met de definitieve oplevering is voorzien in de opdracht. De opdracht wordt uitgebreid toegelicht in hoofdstuk 5 van dit document, nl. de technische voorschriften. Beide sites zijn al lange tijd verlaten en zijn in zeer slechte staat. In het dorp zijn simultaan ook andere bouwprojecten gepland of lopende dus afstemming tussen de verschillende projecten zal wellicht nuttig zijn. De beide sites zijn niet op de lijst van beschermd erfgoed maar zijn wel op de inventaris van bouwkundig erfgoed. De lokale erfgoedbeheerder is betrokken in het project en zal adviseren tijdens de studiefase. De sites zijn geen onderdeel van een beschermd dorpsgezicht, landschap of archeologische zone.
