Dette udbud vedrører en rammeaftale om merchandise og gaveartikler. Baggrunden for nærværende udbud er at sikre attraktive indkøbsvilkår for indkøb af merchandise og gaveartikler. AAU ønsker at indgå én samlet rammeaftale for på den måde at opnå fordele og besparelser ved at samle indkøbet af disse varer hos samme leverandør. Universitetet består af mange institutter og afdelinger med hver deres individuelle budget, og af den grund er det for AAU afgørende, at den kommende leverandør kan tilbyde et bredt sortiment af merchandise og gaveartikler i forskellige kvaliteter og i forskellige prisklasser, således at der er noget at vælge imellem til ethvert arrangement, begivenhed mv. Det er desuden afgørende for AAU, at den kommende leverandør kan understøtte salget af merchandise og gaveartikler via AAUs indkøbssystem med henblik på at gøre indkøbet heraf så let som muligt for alle indkøbere på AAU. AAU ønsker med dette udbud ydermere, at den kommende leverandør indgår i en trepartsaftale om levering og salg af merchandise til tredjepart (Academic Books), således at køb af AAU merchandise også bliver muligt for studerende, gæstestuderende, ansatte mv. (se øvrigt udbudsmateriale). Den kommende leverandør skal i forbindelse med aftaleindgåelse overtage AAU’s nuværende lager hos Idé House of Brands med henblik på at få disse varer afsat hurtigst muligt.
