Beschaffungsgegenstand ist ein zweisitziges, elektrisch betriebenes Ultraleichtflugzeug (UL-Klasse) für Forschungs-, Erprobungs- und Integrationszwecke. Das Luftfahrzeug muss eine hohe Systemoffenheit aufweisen, um die Integration zusätzlicher Sensorik, Nutzlasten sowie experimenteller Hard- und Software zu ermöglichen. Das Luftfahrzeug muss den sicheren und zuverlässigen Betrieb im VFR-Flug gewährleisten und über eine UL-Zulassung verfügen. Es handelt sich um eine Beschaffung die mit Mitteln des Europäischen Fonds für regionale Entwicklung (EFRE-Mittel) bezuschusst wird.
