Przedmiotem zamówienia jest wykonanie robót budowlanych w celu realizacji zadania pn.: „Rozbudowa drogi krajowej nr 12 na odcinku Lipinki Łużyckie - Żary”. Głównym celem przedmiotu zamówienia jest dostosowanie w pełnym zakresie istniejącego układu drogowego (istniejącej drogi krajowej nr 12) do parametrów drogi klasy GP. Kompleksowa rozbudowa odcinka drogi krajowej wzmocni konstrukcję nawierzchni, dostosuje do wymaganych warunków technicznych, w szczególności poprzez poszerzenie jezdni, poprawę geometrii drogi, w tym skrzyżowań i łuków oraz uzupełnienie infrastruktury o niezbędne elementy służące niechronionym uczestnikom ruchu. Zmniejszy się w ten sposób wpływ ruchu drogowego na otocznie, a jednocześnie upłynni ruch, zmniejszy utrudnienia. Zastosowanie miejscowo nawierzchni o obniżonej emisyjności hałasu w celu zabezpieczenia terenów mieszkalnych narażonych na tę emisję powinno w znacznej części wyeliminować uciążliwości akustyczne. Uspokojenie ruchu w miejscowościach podniesie komfort mieszkańców i zwiększy ich bezpieczeństwo. Droga będzie spełniała warunki dotyczące potrzeb obronności państwa.
