Das Plangebiet umfasst die Flächen innerhalb des EU- Vogelschutzgebiets Nr. 19 "Unteres Eichsfeld" (DE 4426-401) außerhalb der im Eigentum der Niedersächsischen Landesforsten stehenden Flächen sowie außerhalb des Stadtgebiets der Stadt Göttingen und umfasst ca. 12.378,6 ha. Der Managementplan ist rein planerisch auszuarbeiten; Kartierungen sind nicht vorgesehen. Im Rahmen des Managementplanes werden die für das EU-Vogelschutzgebiet erforderlichen Erhaltungsziele konkretisiert sowie darauf aufbauende Maßnahmen zur Sicherung und Entwicklung der Erhaltungsziele ausgearbeitet. Die Bearbeitung erfolgt unter Berücksichtigung des Leitfadens zur Maßnahmenplanung für Natura 2000-Gebiete in Niedersachsen. Im Rahmen von besonderen Leistungen sollen die Ergebnisse dieses Managementplans den Bewirtschaftern und der betroffenen Öffentlichkeit in sechs Öffentlichkeitsveranstaltungen präsentiert und mit den Bewirtschaftern Umsetzungsmaßnahmen diskutiert werden.
