Proiectul contribuie la atingerea obiectivului specific al lntervenţiei Regionale 5.1B - Descongestionare trafic, prin modernizarea şi transformarea drumului agricol dintre DN 58 şi Valea Ţerovei într-o legătură rutieră de clasa tehnică IV. Astfel, proiectul va permite devierea traficului greu şi de tranzit din zona centrală şi rezidenţială a municipiului Reşiţa, reducerea aglomerării şi a timpilor de deplasare, creşterea siguranţei circulaţiei şi diminuarea emisiilor poluante şi fonice generate de trafic, contribuind la dezvoltarea unui sistem de transport urban sustenabil.
