La MC2 dispose d'un important parc matériel d'éclairage scénique traditionnel (1500 sources) et projette sa transition vers les technologies LED par optimisation énergétique et face à la disparition des sources halogène existantes condamnées à moyen terme par le règlement européen relatif aux exigences en matière d'écoconception. Les technologies d'éclairage à LED ont des exigences particulières quant aux caractéristiques de leur alimentation électrique. A ce titre et avant d'investir dans les technologies d'éclairage à LED, la MC2 a mis en oeuvre en 2024 les prérequis nécessaires à travers 2 opérations de travaux : le déploiement d'un réseau scénique qui interconnecte tous les espaces de la MC2 en étoile autour d'un coeur de réseau et le remplacement des armoires gradateur des 4 salles de spectacle. La MC2 a ensuite engagé en 2025 le premier investissement dans des sources LED et suivra la même trajectoire en 2026.
