This tender by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI) is for the procurement of preferably 4 plate-based real-time PCR machines (qPCR) for virology detection, with an option for 1-2 additional instruments within 4 years. The total budget limit mentioned in the description is NOK 1.6 million for the initial 4 machines, but the structured data and XML notice indicate an estimated overall contract value of NOK 4.5 million, which likely includes the option. The tender is an open procedure, electronic submission required, and conducted in Norwegian. Only one lot is fully described in the notice, but the structured data shows an incomplete second lot. Key documents (procurement specifications, contract terms) are not analyzed as only the notice text is available.

Original TED description
The Norwegian Institute of Public Health, Department for Virology, shall procure preferably 4 real-time PCR machines, with a total limit of NOK 1.6 million, which shall mainly be used for detecting biological agents, with options for the accompanying services, possibly instrument specific consumables and accompanying equipment for as long as the instruments are in use at the Customer. The instruments shall be used to identify and quantify different biological infectious agents. The materials to be examined can contain both very much and very little of the infectious agents. The best way to detect these is through a real-time PCR analysis. Good sensitivity and user friendliness are therefore required. At times the customer is very dependent on carrying out these analyses, not least in a stand-by situation, so the instruments must be robust and handle both small and large sample volumes. The contracting authority has an option for the procurement of a further 1-2 instruments with the same specifications and on the same terms. The option must be taken up within four (4) years from when the contract is signed.
