Daarnaast wensen we de verschillende afvalstromen en -flows te optimaliseren waarbij we gaan investeren in duurzame afvalstromen. Deze aankoopprocedure kadert in een deelproject waarbij de focus wordt gelegd op de afvalstromen NRMA, PMD en Papier & Karton. De keuze voor de diverse vuilnisbakken en -zakken naar specificaties (qua afmeting, kleur, materiaal…) wordt gemotiveerd door o.a.: - Verbetering van de werking van de organisatie intern: Verschillende types vuilnisbakken en -zakken kunnen worden gebruikt om verschillende soorten afval te scheiden en het voor de eindgebruiker in één oogopslag duidelijk te maken welk type afval in de bakken en zakken zit. - Naleving van de geldende wetgeving o De VLAREMA-regelgeving speelt een cruciale rol bij het beheer van afvalstromen in Vlaanderen. Door specifieke eisen te stellen aan vuilniszakken, bevordert VLAREMA niet alleen de efficiëntie van afvalinzameling en -verwerking, maar ook de milieuvriendelijkheid van deze processen. Dit houdt in dat we ons als ziekenhuis bewust moeten zijn van de soorten vuilnisbakken en -zakken die we aankopen en gebruiken, en ervoor moeten zorgen dat deze voldoen aan de gestelde normen. Dit draagt op zich opnieuw bij aan een schonere, gezondere en duurzamere leefomgeving.
